Senior Mechanical Automation Engineer

Structo is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with extensive Automation experience to help drive the development of new application specific automation equipment.

 

Within our engineering team, you will design, evaluate and commission application specific automation equipment.  You will participate in design meetings, reviews, and will work with external suppliers to deliver high-quality fully functional automation solutions to our customers.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of application specific automation equipment from start to finish.  Ownership of hardware from specification to tested, verified, and delivered customer solution under the supervision of Lead Mechanical Automation Engineers and Project Managers.
  • Superb communication, both verbal and written. 
  • The ability to manage priorities, identify risks, coordinate requests and align deliverables with internal and external stake holders.
  • Contribute excellent analytical, organizational, troubleshooting skills.
  • Develop and coordinate DOEs to optimize/improve product margin and determine component and system performance/feasibility, manufacturing procedures and process specifications.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and lead the change.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/Master in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience designing automation equipment.
  • Experience integrating electronics to drive mechanical components.
  • Strong CAD skills needed - Solidworks is preferred.
  • Understanding of the Reliability Testing required to qualify for hardware
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, adaptable and easy to work with.6dw
